What is a swipe file? And how to build one that's useful

A saved collection of posts, hooks and ideas that worked, kept to learn from when you write.

A swipe file is a folder of things that worked: posts, hooks, video openings, carousels. When you sit down to write, you open it for ideas and structure instead of starting from nothing.

What to put in it

Save posts that did well for their creator, compared with that creator's usual. A big account's average post isn't a lesson, and a smaller creator's breakout often is. Read more on what an outlier score is.

How to use it

Study why a saved post worked: the first line, the length, the format, the promise. Then write your own version with your story and your words. Copying the post itself never works, and copying the reason it worked usually does.

Let it fill itself

Kadenza's Radar is a swipe file that updates every week: the posts from the people you track that beat their own usual, across LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube.
