What is an outlier score? How to spot a post that really worked

A number that says how far a post beat what that account normally does, so you can spot a real winner instead of a busy week.

Raw view counts lie to you. A post with fifty thousand views on an account with a million followers is a quiet day, and a post with four thousand views on an account with eight hundred followers is a small earthquake. An outlier score fixes that by asking one question instead: how did this post do against what that account usually does?

How to read the number

Around one means normal for them. Three means it did about three times their usual. Anything up at five or ten is the post you should actually be studying, because something in it worked hard enough to beat their own baseline.

Why you care

It tells you what to copy. When you look at somebody ahead of you, the useful question is not which post is biggest, it is which post broke their pattern, because that is where the idea is. Study the hook, the topic and the shape of that one.

What it will not tell you

A high score says a post travelled, and travelling is not the same as selling. Plenty of posts go far and bring in nobody, so check whether the winners are the ones your buyer would care about before you copy anything.
