What is a carousel post? And when it beats a video

A post you swipe through, one card or one slide at a time.

A carousel is a stack of images or slides in one post, and the reader swipes to move through it. Instagram, LinkedIn and most of the others support them, and they usually look like a short illustrated lesson.

Why they work

Every swipe is a small yes. The reader keeps choosing to stay, which holds attention on the post far longer than a single image ever does, and platforms notice posts that hold people.

What to put in one

One idea per slide, big text, and a first slide that earns the swipe. The first card does the job of a hook, so if it says nothing, nobody sees card two.

When a video is the better call

If the point needs your face, your tone or a demo, film it. Carousels are best for steps, lists, breakdowns and anything somebody might want to save and come back to. There is a longer read in carousels or reels: which one actually gets you clients.
